Yes, someone can pick up your tabs on your behalf. The person must either share your last name or address as shown on their government-issued ID, or present a signed permission note from you. This note should include the vehicle identification number and specify who is authorized to renew on your behalf.

You have 15 calendar days from the purchase date to transfer the title without incurring penalties. Starting on the 16th day, a $50 fee applies. After that, the penalty increases by $2 daily, up to a maximum of $125.
